In fact, I always thought my mother was a Republican because "people who have class, i.e. money" were and she wanted to be one of them! My beloved step- uncle her bro-in-law thought she was a fascist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascist
In middle school I was assigned to put up a bulletin board. I wanted Kennedy but my step-father was a Republican and to please the teacher, I had to do Nixon. I was glad the other guy won. There was just something about that
Nixon I sensed as a kid that I didn't like. I was correct but according to my step-dad later in my life, if you don't like this country just move to Russia.
I end up in the mid-South, in a state that has been betrayed by the people they CONTINUE to elect. So, I discover
this book written in the South, published in the South and it is all starting to click in my head, now! Yippie! I am reading about white people.
Living in the capital of the State of Alabama, with the White House of the Confederacy and the Southern Poverty Law Center a stone's throw away, I am. Where those awful things were done to people just because they were BLACK. (oh , gee, that is not a complete sentence.....) Back to this book. This State is a Republican State. It is horrible and yet, it was recent history the Democrats who were able to get an automotive plant to move here from Germany, and Korea. Everyone forgot? Nobody talks about it? The Newspaper is not LIBERAL. Nobody reads it because they think it is. Now an Australian giant owns it. Who knows and who cares?
No unions, of course. It's a "right to work" state. However, there are signs of prosperity and wealth.
Why do they continue to parrot the Republican garbage against our President, I wonder? It is all coming together for me. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer IF you vote Republican? ha ha ha to be continued
